Join Rebecca Morrow for a class in honor of Straight Farmhouse’s upcoming Rosie the River Rose Garden Dedication! Of course you know Rosie the Riveter – but do you know about the Bessie the Bartenders who took over for behind the bar during World War II? Bartending was traditionally a man’s world, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t always been women behind the bar and in the distilleries, and in this class you’ll learn their stories, from golden age giants like Ada Coleman (head bartender at the Savoy in London) to modern trendsetters like Audrey Saunders and Ivy Mix.
Your booking includes light snacks (pretzels, nuts). The class includes a combination of history and stories, technique instruction, and hands-on making of cocktails. Plus sampling, of course! Total consumption is equivalent to 1.5-2 cocktails per person over the 2 hour class.
Please note that we have a restricted table layout and use communal seating. If you are attending with friends who book separately, be sure to note their names in the “seat with” section of the booking form so we can seat you together.
